Tender Loving Care Advice for Chamaedorea elegans in plastic pot :
Chamaedorea elegans or commonly known as Parlor palm is one of the most popular indoor palms grown for its adaptability to low light and low temperature. It has attractive clumps with light-textured foliage cloaking thin trunks. As a house plant, it can reach a height of 2m with spread of 80cm-1m. Parlor palm plant is non-toxic for animals and humans.
Growing Conditions
Light: Prefers bright filtered light.
Water: Allow the plants to dry between waterings, but not completely. They are more susceptible to root rot, avoid over watering and the use of high moisture retention substrate.
Soil: Prefers high quality peat based, well drained loose media.
Fertilizer: Feed the plants every four to six months with controlled-release fertilizer.
Pests & diseases: Vulnerable to pests including aphids, mealy bugs, scale, and whitefly. If possible, identify the infestation as early as possible and treat it with the least toxic option.
