Tender Loving Care Advice for Asparagus Plumosus in ceramic pot :
Commonly known as Asparagus fern. This plant is not a true fern, but it belongs to the family of “Asparagus”. It is a fast-growing wiry shrub with branches scrambling habit. The large, graceful feathery-like foliage is usually grown and utilized in floral arrangement.
Growing Conditions
Light: It prefers bright, indirect light without full sun. Insufficient light will result in leaf yellowing and drop off.
Water: Allow the plants to dry between watering, but not completely. They are more susceptible to root rot, avoid over watering and the use of high moisture retention substrate.
Soil: It prefers slight acidic and well drained loose media.
Fertilizer: Apply fertilizer once monthly with a balanced fertilizer and more frequently during the growing period.
Pests & diseases: Vulnerable to pests including aphids, mealy bugs, scale and whitefly. If possible, identify the infestation as early as possible and treat it with the least toxic option.
Others: This plant produces large, tuberous roots that can become pot-bound quickly. If pruning is necessary, cut stems all the way back to the root rather than just shortening them.
