Sansevieria trifasciata is commonly known as snake plant. It makes an excellent house plant due to its adaptability and tolerance to low light and drought conditions. The plant known to be natural air-purifier as it converts carbon dioxide into oxygen at night and helps to remove poisonous gases such as formaldehyde, benzene and other chemicals from air.
Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Gold Flame‘ is a new variant selected for its fresh, striking and colourful, sword-shaped leaves. The foliage is highly variegated with contrasting deep green and golden yellow vertical stripes. Relatively slow growing, this plant does not require repotting very often. It may die off easily if over watering.
Growing Conditions
Light: Filtered light to full sun or partial to full shade are acceptable. This plant is not particular to light levels.
Water: Needs little water and is very drought tolerant. Allow soil to dry out between watering.
Soil: It prefers well-drained loamy soil although it is adaptable to all kind of soil types.
Fertilizer: The plants required light dose fertilizer for good growth.
Others: Mildly toxic to pets.
