Tender Loving Care Advice for Goeppertia insignis (Rattlesnake Plant):
Goeppertia insignis used to be known as Calathea insignis is a very interesting plant to keep at home. Unlike the usual Calathea leaves, it has narrow erected leaves that resembles a sword. The leaf margin is wavy with dark blotched leaves on the upper surface and purplish red on the underside. All Calatheas are efficient in purifying air and removing toxin in the environment.
Light: Prefer bright indoor areas with indirect sunlight.
Water: Prefer areas with higher humidity level, you can mist your plant occasionally to increase the humidity. They thrive in moist soil environment but do allow the plant to dry out slightly between watering.
Others: Trim off any yellow/ dead leaves on the plant. If there are signs of yellowing on the leaves could indicate over watering. Allow the planting media to dry out for longer period before the next watering.
