Tender Loving Care Advice for Dracaena Compacta Mini :
A new miniature version of Dracaena Compacta that comes with glossy, oval-shape foliage completed with striking yellow borders. In addition to its decorative function, Dracaenas improve indoor climates and known to be one of the best air purifying plants which help to remove harmful substances, including: Benzene, formaldehyde and Trichlorethylene from the air.
Leaves of Dracaena are toxic to pets and humans. Typically, ingestion will cause mouth and stomach irritation.
Light: It prefers Medium filtered light and can tolerate fair low light conditions.
Water: Regular misting prefers, but allow the plants to dry between watering, but not completely. They are more susceptible to root rot, avoid over watering and the use of high moisture retention substrate.
Soil: It prefers high quality peat based, well drained loose media.
Fertilizer: Apply fertilizer once every two months with diluted strength of balanced fertilizer. Too much fertilizer will cause the leaf tips to burn.
Pests & diseases: Vulnerable to pests including aphids, mealy bugs, scale and whitefly. If possible, identify the infestation as early as possible and treat it with the least toxic option.
Others: “Tipping” problem happens when the tips of the leaves dry out and turn brown. This can be caused by overwatering or fertilizer burn, but the most common cause is tap water (due to build-up salts, chlorine, fluoride, and other elements over time). Leave tap water overnight before watering if possible.
